Be You

“We forfeit three-quarters of ourselves in order to be like other people. “
-Schopenhauer

In the quest for the authentic self, we must question who we are not. In society we are taught to emulate others in order to fit in and be accepted. The difficulty in this is to make sure on your quest for acceptance to not loose your authentic self. Who are you? What do you love? What passions have you let fall by the wayside in order to keep up with life? Pick up the things you love again. Paint a picture, write a story, play your old favorite instrument, or just dance. Whatever it is you miss that is you- go after it again. Children are always great to watch for this- they love what they love and tend to not care what others think. Do what makes you smile, and what makes you “you”. Never be someone else. You are the only one in the world who can be you- so why try to fill any other role?

Have a fabulous day. Here are hopes to a kind, productive and successful day!
