Happy Monday and a start to a great new fresh week. You attract what you think and what you speak. Be conscious of your thoughts and words and the quality of them (or lack thereof). We all spend most of our minutes thinking- thoughts fill our heads and many of them contain much negativity. Spend your minutes thinking and speaking of only the things you wish to manifest into your life in a positive way. IF a negative thought or worry enters your mind- remember that you have the ability to FLIP IT- into a positive thought or word that will change the request of what you are attracting, and therefor manifesting. It’s a wonderful new day- treat it as such. New wonderful opportunities arrive every minute.

The Journey
A good traveler has no fixed
plans,
and is not intent on arriving. - Lao
Tzu
Most
of us live a life of thoughts of the past or of the future. Many of these thoughts
and ideas are of our fears, regrets and disappointments.
The
past can be a detriment to the way you currently live your life. Do not let the
fears of a repeated past, bad experience or memory hinder your present or
future. The past can be viewed as a gift of valuable lessons and experiences that
have molded you into a better person, if you choose to view it that way. The
choice is ultimately yours.
The
future is inevitable, and always on its way. Embrace the future with positive thoughts
and expectation to attract the best possible scenarios the universe can hand
out to you. It is good to make plans and have goals, but don’t forget that the present
moment is all that is ever available to us. Don’t forget to live each day and
enjoy what is now. None of us are guaranteed the future.
How
many of us live in the present moment, enjoying the journey?
We
are lucky to have the present time to be alive, aware and present. Most of life
isn’t filled with huge events and milestones- it is often filled with tiny
moments we deem insignificant, but these are the moments that fill up most of a
life time. Enjoy the little things life has to offer. That great cup of coffee,
the car that let you pass giving the friendly wave, spending time with a great
person- the list is endless of the good things that do happen each day. When we
become less obsessed with thoughts and being self-absorbed in our own minds, we
can really become present in living in the current moments of our lives. We are
all here to learn and grow and enjoy life. Happiness is attainable by choice,
living presently and seeing the greatness in the little details that make up
the whole. Enjoy the journey.

Advancing In Perspective
Happiness does not depend on
outward things, but on the way we see them.- Leo Tolstoy
Life is generally nothing more than how we see it- our perspective on
things. This determines the emotional mindset of every individual that has ever
drawn breath. It is also my favorite super power to play on, aside from my magnificent
dancing which sort of resembles DeeDee from the cartoon Dexter’s Laboratory. My
advances in my “creative thinking” have come a long way over the years, thus
causing an increase in my happiness’s.
I was having an interesting morning the other day, that of which a
few years back I would have instantly dubbed it a terrible morning. But it was
the perspective I chose that made it just the opposite. It was the kind of
morning where time was not on my side. I spent much of it inside of my closet
giving every article of clothing I owned the brow for not being something magnificent
I wanted or Pintrest worthy. “What the
hell is all this crap and where did all the good outfits go? These outfits all
suck..”. Ok- checkpoint one on pre-coffee brain- I am lucky to have these
clothes, and I know it. There would be tons of people in line to have my “subpar”
outfits any day of the week. Pick something and go!
After finally getting it together, I leave the house, pull out of the
garage and then try to close my garage door…which isn’t working. I give another
round of the brow, And then checkpoint two -come to the realization that I am
extremely lucky to own a home and have a garage door…which may or may not work. If you own a home, things go wrong
from time to time. If you have the privilege to own anything, they will break
or need repair. And I feel privileged to have the opportunity.
After manually closing my garage door, I go out the front door to
leave once and for all, when I run face first into a spider web, fully equipped
with a friendly spider that is now in my face. This- will wake you up faster
than any cup of coffee- I guarantee it. After an awkward series of gestures, I
wipe Mr. Friendly spider and said web off of me and giggle- another wonderful
day to enjoy silly encounters such as spider web in the face. Good Morning- I
am lucky to be alive. Many would give anything for another day, regardless of
the circumstances or how it started. Embrace life with an attitude of joy and
happiness. It is not necessarily about what is going on, but just your perspective.

Shift of Focus to NOW
Much of our focus lies on what has either happened in the past or
thoughts of what is to come in the future. Rarely are thoughts of the present
and enjoying in detail what we have in front of us right now. We tend to dwell
on the past and allow our thoughts to be occupied what has beens and what ifs-
instead of realizing that the present moment is the time to live and create memories
of true living.
Being present in the now is the only time that we have available to
us. Enjoy the present and make the most of it while you are in it and create a
wonderful future.

Extras for Vision Boards
I just came across these great blank checks to fill out to yourself or someone you feel might need it. Fill one out and have faith that you will be provided with what you need. Great for vision boards, prayers and meditations to ask for abundance to manifest in your life.
Have fun with it an give it a whirl, see if it works for you. No harm, no foul if it is done with the best intentions for all involved. We loose our games of pretend as we grow into adults and stop having faith and believing in the impossible.
You may even make a few bucks! Who knows. Children have such a vibrant energy because they believe in the unattainable. As adults we loose it, and we become stunted because we lack that great ballance of imagination with our realities.

Guides and Redeemers
A
man is relieved and happy when he has put his heart into his work and done his
best; but what he has said and done otherwise, shall give him no peace. It is a
deliverance which does not deliver. In the attempt his genius deserts him; no
muse must be friends; no invention; no hope.
–
Ralph Waldo Emerson
What does it mean to do
and being the best in all that we do? We live in a society today that is much
different than the fifty years ago, thirty years ago, or even twenty years ago.
I grew up in a large extended family in Germany, where it was not just taught,
but expected to do ones best. My grandparents held minor league middle working
class jobs. My grandmother worked at the military base launderette and my grandfather
was lovinging called “the candy man”, as he filled candy and various snack
vending machines around the base. I highly doubt that either of these jobs were
their ideal dream jobs that they daydreamed about as children, but it was a job
and they were proud of the jobs they both did.
Those were the days
that people were loyal to their company and stuck around for the long haul,
regardless of the position. They were the days that people took pride in what
they did, whether it was being a laundry attendant, vending machine filler or
flipping burgers at the local snack bar. People took pride in what they did,
and did their jobs to the best of their abilities. It was a matter of personal
pride.
How often do we go
through the drive thru at a fast food restaurant to find the food service
worker is less than pleasant, giving the distinct air of how miserable they are
to be there? Why should we have to suffer their life choices and their inability
to cope with them in a healthy manner? The bottom line is, we shouldn’t. Nor
should people take on that attitude. It makes everyone involved miserable. Most
of us have to work because it provides us with income that we need to make our living.
We have to be at work on average about forty hours a week, more or less. You
are there anyway- so why not choose to take pride in what you do and try your
best to enjoy it. Whether you are an executive, flipping burgers or anything in
between, you have a choice to make the best of any situation. If you work at
KFC, be the best at frying chicken so at the end of the day you can have pride
knowing that you have done your best. The key is to do your best at whatever
you do and wherever you go.
Attitude can take you far- straight to the bottom or
straight to the top. They choice is always up to you. People notice your
attitude and how they felt being around you. It is ones imperative duty as a
member of society to make the right choices and lead by example. Let your life
be a message to others and your actions a legacy that others will be inspired
to carry on. It does not have to be a grand thing you do, often rest in the
simplest of statements of taking pride in the self, doing a good job and being
kind. You are responsible for the energy you bring into a room. It is up to you
whether you leave the energy better or worse than before you entered it. The
good examples of humanity are fading all around us and it is up to us to take on
the cause, before everyone forgets what it was like and we live in a world of
mediocrity and unhappiness. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “we must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and
not minors and invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a
revolution, but guides, redeemers and benefactors, obeying the almighty effort,
and advancing on chaos and the Dark.”

New Directives
Everything Begins with You. You are responsible for your
life, your choices, your attitude and the energy you allow to radiate from you.
Whether that energy is positive or negative, it is your choosing of the vibe
you put out and attract back. The mind is a rather complicated entity, yet in
the same regard, can be kept simple. When things are put into perspective, the
mind goes from a complex thing to a simple and easy to maneuver your life and
your actions- stress free and worry free.
Napoleon Hill quoted,
“Whatever your mind feeds on, it attracts.”
Consider the content of your mind. What type of thoughts do we allow to occupy
the mind? Usually, it seems to be occupied with worry, doubt, and fear or our personal
problems and life issues that come our way. Unfortunately, what most do not
realize or consider is that the worry, doubt and fear aspect that we have
become accustomed to having in our thoughts more often than not, attract those very
things we worry, doubt and fear. Worry, doubt and fear are composed of negative
energy frequencies. If lack and limitation of any sort is on your mind- you
will more than likely attract lack and limitation.
The mind is a very powerful source of energy. It is a tool
that we do not use to its maximum ability. Education and being smart is one
thing, but this is training the mind to attract better energy frequencies,
which are more likely to yield more positive results. We have the ability to
use the mind power to direct it to whatever we may choose. Take possession of
the mind instead of letting the mind and its problems take possession of you.
If you have a worry or concern, limit the amount of time
those thoughts can occupy your mind. Instead of worrying, being fearful, having
thoughts of lack or limitations, replace those thoughts immediately with
thoughts of thankfulness and gratitude. The energy around you needs to be
stabilized and grounded for a good beginning of positive thought process and a
positive frame of mind. First and foremost, give gratitude for what you do
have. Many people in this world would trade places with us instantly. I
recently read an article from the New York Times for a class about modern
slavery and human trafficking. It was in this I gained a huge perspective of my
thankfulness and gratitude to be who and where I am in life.
The article was about a young Asian girl who at the age of
six years old, was sold by her family to a brothel. At the age of six, she was
sold as a commodity to a foreign pedophile as a child virgin. Thinking the
nightmare of her life couldn’t get worse, it is common for young children
prostitutes to be re-stitched as virgins to be sold again as a prized
commodity. The young girl tried to run
away but was caught each time, in which punishment consisted of being put into
a vat of human excrement filled with scorpions and spiders. The girl recalls
being punished up to nine days in this manner. Things like this are happening
in the world this very moment. So there is my personal perspective to give me
instant gratitude.
When I am being a spoiled brat for wanting more material
things, ways of life, the infinite quest for “more” -perhaps one should focus
on the greatness that already surrounds us, the ability sometimes for happiness
is just to recognize it. So many people would be willing to trade places with
us. We have so much, but lack the ability to recognize it and the ability to be
grateful. This is the foundation upon
which happiness and positivity lie. Whenever you have a problem, give thanks
first for what is going good in your life. Then, focus on the solution of your
problem- without worry, doubt or fear. One of the most important things to do
is to give thanks in advance- for the solved problem, the solution or whatever
it is you want. This will likely attract those positive energies your way-
versus if you were focused on worry fear and doubt, it is those energies that
would attract to you. It really is your choice what type of energy or vibe you
put out. If it is negative- you will unfortunately attract that right back to
you. If it is positive, positive energy will find you more easily. It is all a
simple choice of the mind. Doubt, worry, fear, lack, and limitation should have
a very limited role in your show. Give the lead role to a positive character.
Let only good thoughts possess your mind so that you may be open to attract the
good things that are all around you. Good
energies are out there, but they have to be called upon to work for you. Let that
be your directive.

Every moment is a fresh beginning
The Fool
finds himself at ground zero of life. But Far from being sad or frustrated by
having to start over, however, the fool feels remarkably free, light hearted
and refreshed, as if being given a second chance. The fool chooses this state
of mind over the alternative.
Just as life
unfolds with utmost uncertainty at times, the fool has no idea where they're
going or what they're going to do. But that doesn't matter. For the Fool, the
most important thing is to just go out and enjoy the world. To see what there
is to see and delight in all of it. To be present and live in the moment
reveling in all of its endless opportunity and beauty.
I wind my Victrola today with a bit of T. S. Eliot and a reminder to live every moment happily and without regret.
The Cocktail Party
-T.S.. Eliot, 1949
It will do you no harm to find yourself ridiculous.
Resign yourself to be the fool you are.
You will find that you survive humiliation
And that's an experience of incalculable value.
That is the worst moment, when you feel you have lost
The desires for all that was most dersirable,
Before you are contented with what you can desire;
Before you know what is left to be desired;
And you go on wishing that you could desire
What desire has left behind. But you cannot understand.
How could you understand what it is to feel old?
We die to each other daily.
What we know of other people
Is only our memory of the moments
During which we knew them. And they have changed since then.
To pretend that they and we are the same
Is a useful and convenient social convention
Which must sometimes broken. We must also remember
That at every meeting we are meeting a stranger.
What is hell? Hell is oneself.
Hell is alone, the other figures in it
Merely projections. There is nothing to escape from
And nothing to escape to. One is always alone.
Half the harm that is done in this world
Is due to people who want to feel important.
They don't mean to do harm — but the harm does not interest them.
Or they do not see it, or they justify it
Because they are absorbed in the endless struggle
To think well of themselves.
There are several symptoms
Which must occur together, and to a marked degree,
To qualify a patient for my sanitorium:
And one of them is an honest mind. That is one of the causes of their suffering.
To men of a certain type
The suspicion that they are incapable of loving
Is as disturbing to their self-esteem
As, in cruder men, the fear of impotence.
I should really like to think there's something wrong with me —
Because, if there isn't then there's something wrong,
Or at least, very different from what it seemed to be,
With the world itself — and that's much more frightening!
Everyone's alone — or so it seems to me.
They make noises, and think they are talking to each other;
They make faces, and think they understand each other.
And I'm sure they don't. Is that a delusion?
Can we only love
Something created in our own imaginations?
Are we all in fact unloving and unloveable?
Then one is alone, and if one is alone
Then lover and beloved are equally unreal
And the dreamer is no more real than his dreams.
I shall be left with the inconsolable memory
Of the treasure I went into the forest to find
And never found, and which was not there
And is perhaps not anywhere? But if not anywhere
Why do I feel guilty at not having found it?
Disillusion can become itself an illusion
If we rest in it.
Two people who know they do not understand each other,
Breeding children whom they do not understand
And who will never understand them.
There is another way, if you have the courage.
The first I could describe in familiar terms
Because you have seen it, as we all have seen it,
Illustrated, more or less, in lives of those about us.
The second is unknown, and so requires faith —
The kind of faith that issues from despair.
The destination cannot be described;
You will know very little until you get there;
You will journey blind. But the way leads towards possession
Of what you have sought for in the wrong place.
We must always take risks. That is our destiny.
If we all were judged according to the consequences
Of all our words and deeds, beyond the intention
And beyond our limited understanding
Of ourselves and others, we should all be condemned.
Only by acceptance of the past will you alter its meaning.
Every moment is a fresh beginning.
Resign yourself to be the fool you are.
You will find that you survive humiliation
And that's an experience of incalculable value.

On Love
Real love is selfless and free from fear. It pours itself
out upon the object of its affection, without demanding any in return. Its joy
is in its giving. Love is the infinite in manifestation, and the strongest and
most magnetic force in the universe. Pure, unselfish, Love draws itself its
own; and does not need to seek or demand. Scarcely has anyone the faintest
conception of real love. Man is selfish, tyrannical or fearful of his
affections, thereby losing the thing he loves.
Jealousy is the worst enemy of love, for the imagination
runs riot, seeing the loved one attracted to another, and invariably these
fears objectify if they are not neutralized.
You can never receive what you have never given. Give a
perfect love and you will receive a perfect love.
No man is your friend; no man
is your enemy. Every man is your teacher.

Unmoved by Appearances
Unmoved by
Appearances
By Jennifer Brochu
Faith is the substance of things hoped for- the evidence
of things not seen. Faith holds the vision steady and the adverse pictures are dissolved
and dissipated, and due season shall one reap, If one does not falter. Have
faith in a perfect way. Do not be moved by appearance. –
Florence Scovel Schinn
I
had always had the presumption that “faith” was synonymous with religion. - Thus
an instant turn off for me. A lot of organized religion scares me. Since the beginning
of time religions have been created at first to make people feel and do better,
provide answers with the questions of creation and being. But Human egocentric tendencies
lead to inevitable corruption and down the road these very same religions are
used as means of politics, selfishness and control. Most great ideas of
religions become lost in translation sadly. The claims of being religious
spouted from the mouths of the masses over the years. I have heard more words
than actions from those who claim to be religious.
“Just
going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your
garage makes you a car.” ― G.K. Chesterton
Nuff said. It was no surprise to me
that when I brushed up against the subject of faith in a philosophy class a few
years ago, I was not the least bit receptive. Add the fact that the example
being used to convey the concept of faith was a Christian Bible story was
enough to make my left eye twitch in distain. In all of my open mindedness on
religion, philosophy and being, my first honest reaction to any Christian
concept is to shut down immediately. It is the hypocrites I think of instantly and
by blood starts to boil. Not a reaction I am proud of, but it’s the truth. I am never pushing any religious propaganda here-
just philosophical concepts that may better assist us all on the infinite quest
of happiness and being.
So back to my philosophy class and the
Christian Example- Faith and the story of Abraham and Issac. REALLY? One of the dumbest stories I had ever
heard of to date, in my opinion back then. (Yes- still closed minded in all of
my open mindedness.) A brief recap of the story-
After year of Abraham not being able to have
children with his wife Sara- they finally have a son in unheard of later years
of life. After this miracle happens, God then tells Abraham that he must
sacrifice his only son to him as a symbol of his faith and devotion. Abraham
follows his instructions and takes his only son and prepares to do the
sacrifice, down to the very last second with knife in midair preparing to stab
his son. In which only seconds before this act was to be carried out
completely, God recounted his request by stopping him.
My reaction: WTFF? What kind of shit story is
this? What God would do that to someone? People didn’t even live to that age in
those times- historically speaking. So that couldn’t be true. Second of all no
one at that age….70s (if even still alive- fat chance) would ever be able to
bear a child. And then after all of that to have a child then your God tells
you to sacrifice it? What a doushebag! (Yes I just called that God a doushebag.
The infinite and I will settle up on all of my opinions- right and wrong -when
the time is right.) Then I am sure I ranted on the postings that we were
required to respond to with my thoughts on the subject. I just could not break
away from the ridiculousness of it all.
It was by all accounts, the most Absurd thing
I have ever heard of.
ab·surd
[ab-surd, -zurd] adjective
1.
utterly or obviously senseless, illogical, or untrue; contrary
to all reason or common sense; laughably foolish or
false: an absurd explanation.
I never understood the point of that
story and the very existence of that story bothered me for many years. Fast forward to more recent times, and my
second round at the study of metaphysics and philosophy- when it hit me. What
in my opinion that story is actually about. When I was able to remove my
resentment of the origin of the story and remove my over logical thinking for a
moment, I saw that the story was not about an unfair god or circumstances such
as age that would never happen- but it was indeed a story about faith and being
unmoved by appearances.
With the stresses of our daily lives,
it is most difficult to maintain a positive attitude or any type of faith in
anything. We may start out with these thoughts of positivity and faith- but as
time progresses within a situation- appearances adverse to our wishes, hopes
and desires being to manifest all around us. We may be able to keep up the
faith in the beginning with a few things that begin to falter our faith and
positive thinking…but when everything around us points to that very unwanted outcome,
fear and anxiety instantly replace any thoughts of positivity or faith that
ever existed. We all become moved by the appearances around
us. Logic paired with fear and anxiety leads us to believe in the events that
surround us. How can it not? All arrows lead to the unwanted or feared result.
We become consumed with worry and prepare for our defeat.
This story is about unwavering faith-
that even in the midst of the worst possible situation- God directly asking him
to kill his own son as a sacrifice- Abraham kept his faith and kept it
unwavering until the very last moment- even though ALL APPERANCES were against
what he truly wished for and wanted. Now of course this would rationally and
logically never happen to us- but we can apply it to any of our stressful
situations.
When appearances around us suggest
something, it’s difficult to be unmoved by these appearances. It’s almost illogical
to ignore them. This is the reality of the present situation- we think to
ourselves. We might as well accept the
reality check- and set aside fantasy land and move on in our utter disappointment
and distain. Playing with this concept has
been quit fun and a great learning experience-especially when you a person of
extremely low patience and demand instant results, such as myself.
I have personally applied this concept
to quite a few things lately. I admit some have proved most difficult. However, it’s
been quit the intriguing thing watching situations go down to the last
minute, with no evidence of the thing desired anywhere in sight, in fact- all
evidence to the contrary. It is a pure mind over matter concept. I suggest you
try it out with a little thing. And move upward with many little things and
move this act of faith on to bigger and better requests. This way of thinking
works for me in the following ways:
1.
Things are what they will be. If something is
mine by divine right, it will come to me no matter what. No matter how much I
worry or how much anxiety I get over a subject matter, I will get what is intended
for me.
2.
Wasting my minutes worrying and doubting a
desire only attracts the opposite of that desire. An unwavering faith changes
the energy of the situation and has much better chances of any desire to come
to fruition. You may not get it 100% of
the time- but the odds are much better.
3.
Time will elapse from the beginning of the
situation to its end. How I choose to spend my time in-between is entirely up
to me. I can choose to have a bad time with it and let doubt, fear and constant
worry overrule my existence and be move by appearances. OR- I can choose to
keep positive, remain unmoved by appearances, and decide that I will attract
the right result meant for me. Even if I do not end up with the result I want
and think is right for me, there may be a better result for me.
4.
I choose to keep a faith in what is right for
me. When we become over pushy with a desire, we let that desire overrule our
emotions and thoughts and may be interrupting the “what’s right” for us to find
its way to us.
5.
Give thanks for the right situation to come to
fruition.
6.
Being unmoved by appearances is the best
advice I can take or ever give. I used to be entirely moved by appearances and
become terribly upset and revel in it, endlessly sometimes it seemed. Nowadays
I just have a faith in the infinite good knowing it will always find me. It may
not always come to me exactly the way I wanted it or thought I wanted it- but
it always ends up being what I needed or even better than the thing I wanted. Now when appearances are adverse- I smile
instead of cry- knowing that my endless good is always on its way.

The Restoration

In a world where we think we know
it all, there is still so much that we still do not know. If you take look at
the past few hundred years only, we have gone from agrarian society to an
industrial one- finally harboring some of the vast knowledge we are capable of and
applying it. The Industrial Revolution and the Gilded Age are just a sneak peek
of what we are capable of.
What we do know and the knowledge we do
possess, is just a mere tip of the iceberg. Our knowledge and power is still a
mystery to us- as we only use a small portion of our brains. The rest remains
unknown- a mystery of the sciences and physics. With all of our progress we
remain feeble and small minded. Society has thought he ages bombarded us with
religious texts and parables, so that we may be able to have a slight
comprehension of the way of things. Taken into a metaphysical context- the
following biblical quote translates into a swarm of logic.
“I will restore you the years the locusts have eaten.”
Paraphrased to the
following-
“I will restore to you the years the emotions have ruined. “
People are rocked with doubts and
fears, bringing failure, unhappiness and disease. The fear of failure is man’s
greatest fear- failure of health, failure of business, finances, love and even
success. Constant and continued fear affects the glands- interferes with digestion
and is associated with distressing nervous symptoms. It robs the body of health
and destroys happiness.
Fear is man’s worst enemy, for you
attract what you fear. It is faith turned upside down- a faith in negative
instead of positive (evil instead of good if you subscribe to that idea). The
frequency to whatever energy channel you subscribe to will manifest those very
things. If we spend minutes and hours a day with our thoughts- should those
thoughts not be channeled to positive thoughts?
They are there anyway- constantly running some sort of show in your
head- don’t you want to be responsible for what kind of show it is? I am
certainly not interested in anyone or anything else running my show other than
what I specifically want run. I have let others, my past and even my own
rampant thoughts run my show for many years. I have only recently taken the
reigns and become my own director and producer once again. I am loving it 100
percent. “Many of us crucify ourselves between two thieves- regret of the past
and fear of the future.” Well I have just cast out those two thieves. It is definitely
an option!
Restoring “the years the locusts”
aka- negative thoughts and fears are completely doable. Doable- but not necessarily
an easy feat, I can easily admit. It will require practice- daily practice.
Like a diet or an exercise- it is a life change. Rewiring your thinking is very
similar to working out. You have to keep at it to see any results. Some of them
are not all instantaneous, while some are. After about six months of dedicated
practice (and much more to go) my manifested results are astounding. My quality
of life is the best it has even been. Time will go by either way. One can
choose to let the locusts continue to constantly defeat the inner monologue of
the mind with negative thoughts and fears, or we can restore what the havoc
they have reaped. The rewiring of this
brain has been a process, and not always a fun one. Hopefully now that I have
lassoed my negative thinking, I can now focus on developing or at least trying
to comprehend the rest of my mind and live a more enjoyable life.
I am by no means an authority on
the subject, and never claim to be- just a fellow student of life with zest for
learning, philosophy, metaphysics and new ideas. Positive
thought and forward thinking are not just some flowery rhetoric, paired with
nice quotes- it is an energy frequency one can tap into. It is a science and a
physics we have not fully yet explored. See what you are capable of- there is
nothing to lose but everything to gain!

On Happiness...
Happiness is not a matter of events,
it depends upon the tides of the mind.

The Proof is in the Pudding
Recently he had been working at a job not utilizing his advanced degrees at a medical office- just to pay the bills and be able to get by. He had been applying and interviewing for jobs around the city for almost a year and was feeling drained after not hearing back from various positions. Billy had always been a positive and uplifting person- one of the reasons I love him so dearly. But even the best of the best get dragged down by life and a series of disappointments. Add insult to injury, he had been informed that he would be laid off in the next coming weeks. After a distraught phone call from my dearest friend, which by the way is rare, I decided to send him a copy of one of my all time favorite books I was re-reading, The Writings of Florence Scovell Schinn, an innovative writer, philosopher and metaphysician from the turn of the century. Her writings are based on a lot of things we already know, but she takes these concepts and puts in them in a way they are better understood. Many of the concepts have Christian undertones, but even if you are not Christian or religious, these are just semantics and the concepts can be understood and applied even if you do not subscribe to that particular doctrine.
Upon receiving the book, Billy immediately began to read it and apply the concepts of positive thought and affirmation. He would call and we would discuss our readings together and what he was doing to produce positive changes for his life. We both began to pray for the “RIGHT” job for him- a job that would allow him to use his degrees and move up to the next level-a job that he could learn and grow and be happy at. Using the following quotes and similar ones, he began to visualize the right job for himself. In addition to this, he gave thanks in advance for the right job and went upon the faith knowing that the infinite spirit was never too late and that the right job would be provided. If indeed there was a job in NCY for him, he would find it in perfect ways under perfect grace. He began interviewing again but with a different outlook on life- one of positivity and grace.
“The spirit is never too late. I give thanks to the ….received on the invisible plane and that is manifests on time.”
Then Billy set a start date in his mind and wrote it down that he would be starting his new dream job on March 5th, 2012. Using laws of the following quote:
“Man must prepare for the things he has asked for, even if there isn’t the slightest sign of it in sight. “
He started looking for apartments and enjoying the city for what it was and left his negative thinking and worries behind. On March 12th, one week after he had set his goal to start his dream job, he received a phone call and was offered a position of Practice Manager of the Department of Neurology at Mount Sinai. I couldn’t be more proud of him! I am so excited for him and he could not be more deserving. This is just the tip of the ice berg on all the wonderful things that are coming his way.
Just a glimpse of what the powers of positive thinking can do!
